At Jennifer Porter Law, community includes the pets who greet us at the door, curl at our feet, and somehow make even ordinary days better.
That’s why we’re announcing Paws for a Cause, a social media photo contest that brings pet lovers together to share what makes them smile while supporting animals who are still waiting for a place to call home.
For every pet photo you post and tag with @jenporteresq, we’ll donate $5 per tagged pet photo, up to a total of $500 across all posts received by March 31, 2026, to the Fairfax County Animal Shelter.
Each donation helps support food, medical care, and safe shelter for animals as they wait for loving families. By sharing a photo of your pet on social media, you’re helping provide care and comfort to animals in need. It’s simple, joyful, and rooted in kindness.
Let’s fill social media with wagging tails, curious whiskers, floppy ears, and plenty of personality while helping more animals find their forever homes!
Participating in the contest:
Each tag = $5 donated to a local animal shelter
Have more than one pet? Love sharing photos? Feel free to post more than once. Every tagged post counts!

Pets bring comfort, laughter, and companionship into our lives in ways that are hard to put into words. They’re there for quiet moments, big celebrations, and everything in between. Local animal shelters work every day to provide the same sense of safety and belonging to animals who haven’t yet found their families.
Paws for a Cause exists to support those shelters while celebrating the pets who already mean so much to us.
As Jennifer Porter shared:
“Our pets are family. Being able to support local shelters while celebrating them makes this especially meaningful.”
Maggie Kiernan added:
“It’s a small action that creates a real impact. Sharing a pet photo is easy, but it can truly help animals who need care.”
By taking part, you help:
During the contest, we’ll feature standout pet photos on our social media. Your pet may appear in posts, stories, or our Pet of the Quarter spotlight.
It’s our way of saying thank you—and sharing a little extra joy!
